The Vaugh School of Agricultural Engineering & Technology (VSAET) is committed to academic excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate's education and research programmes across a broad spectrum of disciplines in Agricultural Engineering. This School was started in 1943 and it became the pioneer to offer Agricultural Engineering degree in the whole of Asia and 4th in the world. The study program emphasizes a basic knowledge as well as its application. Programs cover the current frontiers of technology along with learning to develop strong programs to meet the educational objectives. The School has a broad spectrum of disciplines such as Soil and Water Engineering, GIS and Remote Sensing, Farm Machinery & Power Engineering, Food Process Engineering and Renewable Energy.
Eligibility Criteria:Candidates who have passed 10+2 level examination or equivalent with physics, mathematics as compulsory subjects and one optional from the following subjects chemistry/ Bio-Tech/ computer science/ Biology securing minimum 50%marks in aggregate, are eligible for admission to B. Tech. programme . The Candidate is essentially required to pass in each subject of the qualifying subject group.
3 Years Course [Lateral Entry] Candidates who have passed three years Engineering Diploma or B.Sc. Mathematics with minimum of 60% marks from any recognized university.

The department has food engineering & food processing laboratories with different sections catering to the curriculum needs. The food engineering lab has various sections such as Drying, Quality Control, Packaging, Engineering Properties of Food Materials etc.
Soil and Water Engineering Lab (Irrigation Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Drainage Engineering) In Uttar Pradesh every year during the summer season people are facing the problem of drinking and irrigation water due to the dried wells and canals, decline of water table both in urban and rural areas. In India only 10-20% of rainfall is used for beneficial purposes, 80% of the water wastes as runoff and causing the problem of flood during rainy season every year.
The department has Farm Machinery, Farm Power, Renewable Energy and Ergonomics lab which are fully equipped with all equipments and machines to conduct practicals and research. The farm machinery lab is equipped with modern and conventional animal drawn, tractor drawn and self propelled machineries for various farm operations.
The University has eight hostels on campus, four for men and four for women students including one Women's International PG Hostel. Single, double and multiple bed rooms are available in all the hostels. All the rooms are well furnished, ventilated and with WiFi Facilities. New International PG hostels for men accommodates foreign students. Note: Admission to any academic programme does not automatically guarantee accommodation in the hostel. Students from outside Allahabad are given preference for being accommodated in the hostels provided no disciplinary or police action has been taken against them.
The library has more than 85,000 volumes, which include text books, reference books and research material on Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Home Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Animal Science, Dairy Technology, Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, Plant Pathology & Nematology, Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Biotechnology etc. It also subscribes regularly to a large number of technical journals and magazines, both Indian and Foreign. To make students more aware of today's India and the world, popular news papers in different languages are provided at the news section of the library. A separate periodical section is maintained with book numbers while the latest issues are displayed in the periodical section of the main reading room
Hayes Memmorial Mission Hospital of the University is equipped with experienced team of Doctors comprising Physician, Gynacologist, Opthamalogist, Orthopedisian, Surgeon, Anasthatist and Pathologist. The Hospital has OPD, IPD facilities, Pharmasy, Labs, X-ray & Ultrasound facilities, Operation theatre for minor and major surgery which caters the need of students, faculty members, officers, staff of the University and nearby area.
Facilities are provided to students, who show interest in the sports/games of their choice, under the sharp supervision of qualified instructors. Sports facilities available at SHIATS, include basket ball, tennis, badminton and volleyball courts. The Institute also has well maintained football, hockey and cricket fields, a running track of 400 meters, a table tennis room and a well equipped Gym. The faculty members encourage the students to enhance their interest in various games and sports and to inculcate a competitive spirit in them. Inter house matches are organized throughout the session, the performance of each house team is recorded for the overall championship. courts.
