Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) is set-up jointly by Govt. of India and textile industry in 1974 on a 50 acre land at Ghaziabad near national capital New Delhi. It is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Xxl of 1860). NITRA is the only ISO 9001:2008 accredited premier textile research association in the country. NITRA is recognized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India. NITRA Technical Campus (NTC) is the academic arm of NITRA set up exclusively to offer AICTE approved B. Tech and PGDM programs in Engineering and Management. The institute spreads over a huge area of 1,68,000 sq ft having buildings with latest infrastructural facilities and hostel blocks.
Eligibility Criteria:Candidates who have passed 10+2 level examination or equivalent with physics, mathematics as compulsory subjects and one optional from the following subjects chemistry/ Bio-Tech/ computer science/ Biology securing minimum 50%marks in aggregate, are eligible for admission to B. Tech. programme . The Candidate is essentially required to pass in each subject of the qualifying subject group.
3 Years Course [Lateral Entry] Candidates who have passed three years Engineering Diploma or B.Sc. Mathematics with minimum of 60% marks from any recognized university.

Quality evaluation and testing is one of the most important activities in the entire value chain process of textile and garment industry. NITRA offers a wide range of testing facilities for fibre, yarn, fabrics, dyes, chemicals and effluent in its well equipped NABL accredited (ISO/IEC 17025:2005) and BIS recognized six laboratories i.e. Physical Quality Evaluation Laboratory Chemical Quality Evaluation Laboratory Environment Laboratory Eco Laboratory Polymer & Technical Textile Laboratory Heat & Flame Testing Laboratory
